Tommy Huynh’s Incredible Journey to Employment

My name is Tommy Huynh. I work for GCE Pensacola NAS And, I work in the scullery… for three years… and a how I found out about the job was um… I was talking to my mother and I wanted to work again and she said she looked into it and we got in touch with Lakeview Center And, Lakeview and I went in there and they put me on O.J.T. “On the Job Training.” And I I came to Dawn the manager for NAS Pensacola 3900 and um she put me on for 90 days. And, after the 90 days she would make up her mind if she want to a keep me or get rid of me…so…. she kept me. I wanted a job because I didn’t want to sit around at home collecting disability. If God gave me two working foot and two working legs, two working arms, I can work. I guess it is the Asian genes in me. I like working for GCE because a it give me something to do, but also something to look forward to working. It is like… family. When you come in here Everybody knows your name and the smiles you get and the sense of you mean something. People with disabilities most of the people say they can’t work, but in actuality they can work. And I am grateful for GCE for giving me the opportunity.
