Caching Files with the Service Worker

  • Not sure if anyone is watching these comments, but if someone are, can someone please explain to me how it's possible to get the default chrome back behavior when using service workers and dealing with posted forms?

Without a service worker handling the requests chrome actually shows you a cached version of the submitted form if you press the back button if you have navigated away form the page. When using a service worker it instead replays the request, resulting in resubmitted forms. Any simple way to make a service worker behave like chrome does on it's own?

  • 3:36 – The syntax here looks odd to me. Shouldn't event.respondWith method pass in the fetch directly without the return?

  • Found this video too fast to catch up with.
Referring to the concepts : https://developers.google.com/web/ilt/pwa/caching-files-with-service-worker-slides
